How much does it cost and how do you pay?

I offer free 15 minute Discovery Calls for us to have a quick introduction and for you to ask any questions you might have. A deeper conversation would take place in the Initial Consultation session, where we would think about what brings you to therapy and what your therapy plan might look like. Initial consultations last 1 hour and cost £35.

Individual therapy sessions last for 1 hour and cost £65, this includes the cost of any art materials used at my studio. For online sessions you will need to purchase any art materials you wish to use.

Some limited sessions are available at a reduced price to those on a lower income, so please email me to discuss availability and explain a little about your circumstances.

I am currently running an offer where you can book your first block of 6 sessions for £360, saving you £5 per session (or a total saving of £30).

I also offer one-to-one Clinical Supervision to other therapists or trainee therapists, and these sessions last 1 hour and cost £55.

Please pay in advance of your session by an online banking transfer to the following details: Becky Piggot Psychotherapy (business account); sort code: 40-18-00; account number: 91209280

Do I need to be "good at art" to do art therapy?

You don't need to have any skill or experience at all in making art, just an openness to giving it a go, and if you don't want to make anything, that's fine too. In art therapy, we are not interested in trying to make something aesthetically pleasing, nor is the image used for any sort of diagnosis, rather, we are interested in what it might symbolise for the individual, and the process of how it was made is just as important as what is created.

Is what I say (or make) kept confidential?

Yes, your art work will be stored securely in a lockable cabinet, along with any written notes that I take, for the duration of your therapy. After this time, your art work is yours to take home, and any remaining written notes that I have will be confidentially destroyed. All of your personal information will be protected in line with the relevant data protection policies, as set out by the HCPC standards of practice. The only time that I might need to break confidentiality is if you tell me something that suggests there is a significant risk of harm to yourself or to others.

Can I bring along a friend or family member?

You are welcome to bring someone along to your initial consultation session if this helps you to feel more comfortable, however, if it seems that their presence is hindering what you can share then it might be best for them to step out for a bit to give you some privacy. There would then be an expectation that you attend future sessions on your own so that you can speak freely about yourself without worrying about anyone else's feelings.

What are the facilities on site?

There is parking at Lancefield Studios, but it is limited. Please do not park anywhere else in Lancefield Place other than within the Lancefield Studios parking area.  There is also parking available on the main road adjacent to Lancefield Place. There is a toilet on site, which I can grant access to, but there is no reception area, so please do not arrive until your appointment time. Unfortunately, the site is not ideal for wheelchair users, as the driveway has quite deep gravel, however, my studio is at ground floor level, so you will not have to go up any steps.
